Gaur Gallery Exhibitions

The Gaur Collection’s home gallery in New Jersey serves as an incubator for exhibitions and scholarship on modern and contemporary Indian art. Drawing on the collection’s depth in painting, sculpture, photography, prints, and indigenous art, each exhibition explores a particular artist, medium, or theme.

Exhibitions develop through sustained research and collaboration with curators, art historians, and artists, often over one to two years. Additional acquisitions strengthen the presentation, while engagement with scholars, students, and visitors opens new avenues of interpretation.

The gallery is a starting point for projects that reach wider audiences through scholarly publications, museum exhibitions, and traveling shows. Gifts to public institutions extend this work, supporting the collection’s long-term preservation, study, and accessibility.
